Even though the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/wii-was-most-desired-ebay-item-on-black-friday/">Wii reigned supreme on eBay</a>, other retailer sites saw crazy demand for Nintendo's fitness package, <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/14/reggie-praises-wii-fit-longevity-at-investors-conference/"><em>Wii Fit</em></a>. For major retail site Amazon.com, the Wii and <em>Wii Fit</em> were the top-selling video game items throughout the day on Friday. On eBay-owned Shopping.com, the top searches were for <em>Wii Fit</em> and the Nintendo Wii. And during a season that is expected to generate $29 billion, that's a lot of green for Nintendo.<br /><br />Any of you snag a Wii or <em>Wii Fit</em> to gift someone this holiday season?<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="%GalleryURL%">Wii Fit</a></strong></p><a href="/gallery/wii-fit/825943/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/05/wfrv010ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="/gallery/wii-fit/825942/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/05/wfrv009ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="/gallery/wii-fit/825941/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/05/wfrv007ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="/gallery/wii-fit/825940/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/05/wfrv008ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="/gallery/wii-fit/825939/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/05/wfrv005ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=21297">Gamasutra</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/unsurprisingly-wii-fit-sells-big-on-black-friday/">Unsurprisingly, Wii Fit sells big on Black Friday</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 18:27:00 EST. It came out over a year later ... and didn't turn out to be <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/plattchentwistnpaint">worth waiting</a>, or paying 1,000 Wii Points for (much less the 1,500 Bplus charged in Europe).<br /><br />Bplus apparently wasn't discouraged by the poor critical reception. They're back with another WiiWare game with a similarly inscrutable title. <em>Niki -- Rock 'n' Ball</em> is a very retro-style single-screen platformer in which the character controls a rolling ball that can transform into a rock. Each level contains ZeLeLi pearls that the player must pick up, while defeating enemies, in order to open the exit.<br /><br />Bplus has yet to announce a price for <em>Niki</em>. Hopefully they've learned from the <em> Pl&auml;ttchen </em>experience.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.wiiware-world.com/news/2008/12/bplus_gets_the_ball_rolling_with_niki_n_rock_n_ball">WiiWare World</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/plattchen-developer-announces-another-weirdly-named-wiiware-game/">Plattchen developer announces another weirdly-named WiiWare game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 17:30:00 EST. So it has come to this. Sonic and Knuckles, both kitted out in <em>body armor</em> (including some truly laughable headwear on Knuckles), and <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194898/full/">having it out</a> with swords. Just kill us now.<br /><br />The <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194901/full/">latest fifteen screens</a> of <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/28/sonic-and-the-black-knight-loses-a-little-color/"><em>Sonic and the Black Knight</em></a> suggest that Sega has learned nothing from the <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/wii/sonicunleashed?part=rss">critical response</a> to <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/07/sonic-unleashed-trailer-is-mostly-the-game-we-want/"><em>Sonic Unleashed</em></a>. Many reviews heavily criticized the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/sonic-unleashed-rumored/991287/">werehog melee sections</a>, but praised the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/sonic-unleashed-rumored/991284/">running bits</a>. So <em>why are Sonic and Knuckles now exchanging scimitar swipes</em>?! Sega's fascination with turning Sonic games into some kind of cartoony <em>God of War</em> baffles us.<br /><br />Mind you, one possible explanation for this trend cropped up in the latest IGN 'Three Red Lights' podcast, where <em>Sonic Unleashed</em> developer David Clayman argued that a <em>Sonic</em> game featuring only running stages would last around three hours, such is the hedgehog's speed (full transcript <a href="http://www.indoorheroes.com/article.php?id=58">here</a>). In which case, may we politely suggest a WiiWare <em>Sonic</em> game, David?<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: Sonic and the Black Knight</strong></p><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194902/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/12/3074273594_cf8cfe94da_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194901/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/12/3074273540_7c8285a425_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194900/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/12/3074273426_eb49d8338d_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194899/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/12/3074273334_2f4e0a2fd7_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/sonic-and-the-black-knight/1194898/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/12/3074273268_67db2e4310_o_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Screens via press release; <a href="http://www.indoorheroes.com/article.php?id=58">Indoor Heroes</a> link via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=64623">Go Nintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/sonic-and-the-ludicrous-body-armor/">Sonic and the Ludicrous Body Armor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 16:34:00 EST. It's long been known that Nintendo profits from its hardware, though how much has never been revealed.<br /><br />If Gibson's sums are accurate, that means Nintendo made almost $4.2 million of profit from North American Wii hardware during <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/14/october-npd-people-still-going-crazy-over-wii/">October</a> alone. Six dollars, for the record, is what we almost earn in a whole day of blogging. Nintendo's <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/10/miyamoto-were-not-soft-on-graphics/">Shigeru Miyamoto</a> recently conducted a rather large Q&amp;A with Edge, talking about all kinds of fascinating things. Actually, to tell you the truth, the man could talk about used Q-tips and we'd still find it fascinating. To call it a crush would be a severe understatement. <br /><br />It's no secret that <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/wii-music"><em>Wii Music</em></a> hasn't been selling too well, but Miyamoto still has hope that the game will be a success. "I think a very large audience can enjoy <em>Wii Music</em>," Miyamoto said, adding that when Nintendo demoed the game, "many took to it." That can't really be said for the critics, however, who've <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/10/20/metareview-wii-music/">not enjoyed the game</a> overall.<br /><br />"I really appreciate that the gaming media has a different view of anything as new as <em>Wii Music</em> today," Miyamoto stated. He said these scores help show "how different and unique <em>Wii Music</em> is" and that he has this "big ambition" for the game and "that it can eventually be something very influential so that it might be able to influence what music means in the world."<br /><br />It's a pretty lengthy interview, so <a href="http://www.edge-online.com/magazine/miyamoto-unplugged">click here</a> to read the whole thing. It's always nice to get a glimpse into Miyamoto's mind.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: Wii Music</strong></p><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/wii-music/1013465/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45040_r64_stage_b3_ad_psd_jpgcopy_cgyuyfdu_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/wii-music/1013460/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45037_r64_stage_a3_ad_psd_jpgcopy_cgyuyfdu_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/wii-music/1013457/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45038_r64_stage_b1_ad_psd_jpgcopy_cgyuyfdu_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/wii-music/1013448/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45035_r64_stage_a1_ad_psd_jpgcopy_cgyuyfdu_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/wii-music/1013446/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45036_r64_stage_a2_ad_psd_jpgcopy_cgyuyfdu_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/miyamoto-still-hopeful-wii-music-will-catch-on/">Miyamoto still hopeful Wii Music will catch on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 13:47:00 EST. These imaginary parents (of the future, since the game comes out December 11) were able to just <em>go to the store</em> and purchase the game, whereas anyone hoping to elicit an <em>"Ohhhh, Taiko da!" </em>(It's <em>Taiko!</em>) from us would have to order an import copy of the game and surreptitiously install homebrew software on our Wii. <br /><br />The point is, basically, that we are intensely jealous of these children and their adorable, <em>Taiko</em>-tolerating cat. <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/eBay/">eBay</a> issued a press release touting the rush of activity on their online auction site last <a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/black-friday">Friday</a>, in which they celebrated the success of consumer electronics auctions. The press release noted the items for which more people searched eBay than any other, and our favorite console topped the list. The Wii was the most-searched item across all of eBay on Black Friday, and 3,171 of those searchers paid too much for it (an average price of $349) by buying on eBay.<br /><br />The <em>second</em> most-searched item was probably picked up by most of the same people -- <em><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/27/mario-kart-wii-fit-hit-sales-landmark-in-uk/">Wii Fit</a> </em>sold 1,059 units at an average $140 price. Congratulations to everyone who "won" one of these items, we guess! Although it's kind of sad to think of all those people either getting rid of their Wiis or grabbing them from stores for the express purpose of eBay markup.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/wii-is-most-searched-for-product-on-ebay">GamesIndustry.biz</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/wii-was-most-desired-ebay-item-on-black-friday/">Wii was most desired eBay item on Black Friday</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 11:55:00 EST. Was it fond memories? Was it a deeper connection with those who I love? Was it several containers of leftovers? Sure, I received a fair share of those, but the most significant thing I received this Thanksgiving was the flu. <br /><br /> I should have known. At least five different folks I saw over the course of the day claimed to be recovering from some form of the dreaded virus. Sure enough, by Friday evening I was sweating and freezing at once, aching all over, and debating on which end to point at the toilet (too much?). <br /><br /> Whenever I get sick, I tend to feel very isolated. While everyone else was out enjoying their four-day weekend, I was tethered to the bed. But it didn't take long for me to realize that I'm certainly not alone. Everyone gets sick sooner or later, and no one is truly immune. In fact, even our video game counterparts have their fair share of sicknesses that affect their goals. And thankfully, just like said counterparts, the infections are usually brief. Here's our Top 5 sicknesses to avoid. <br /><br /> </div> <br /> <div align="center"> </div> <div class="buttontext"> <div align="center"><a id="ninbutton" href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/top-5-5">NEXT &gt;&gt; </a></div> </div> <style type="text/css"> #ninbutton { border-style: solid; border-color: #000; border-width: 2px; background-color: #BBB; color: #000; text-decoration: none; width: 100px; text-align: center; padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px; margin: 2px 2px 2px 2px; } .buttontext { color: #000; text-decoration: none; font: bold 14pt Helvetica; } #ninbutton:hover { text-decoration: none; color: #BBB; background-color: #000; } </style> <center> </center><br /> <div style="border-top: 1px solid; padding-top: 5px;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/category/top-five/"><img hspace="4" border="1" align="left" vspace="4" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/07/top5_thumbnail_kd_20080702.jpg" /></a><em><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/category/top-five/">The Top 5</a> is a weekly feature that provides us with a forum to share our opinions on various aspects of the video game culture, and provides you with a forum to tell us how wrong we are. All we've heard about the release of <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/08/06/chew-your-nails-through-fatal-frame-iv-videos/"><em>Fatal Frame IV</em></a> in the US is that Nintendo apparently <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/10/03/reggie-answers-questions-about-disaster-fatal-frame-iv/">isn't publishing it</a>. According to retailer <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/6080093/Fatal-Frame-IV-The-Mask-Of-The-Lunar-Eclipse/Product.html">Play.com</a> and <em>Official Nintendo Magazine</em> (via reports on NeoGAF and also this sliver of a scan found on <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=64635">GoNintendo</a>), the Tecmo/Grasshopper Manufacture survival horror title could be headed to Europe on February 6, under the name ... <em>Fatal Frame IV</em>, rather than the series' customary European <em>Project Zero</em> title.<br /><br />Nintendo of Europe's apparent decision to publish this makes Reggie's snub seem <em>just</em> a bit more painful, though we believe that it would be good business for the <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=21155">newly-combined</a> <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/09/04/square-enix-takeover-denied-tecmo-goes-with-koei/">Tecmo/Koei</a> to publish it in North America themselves.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: Fatal Frame 4</strong></p><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fatal-frame-4/949173/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/07/zero1021ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fatal-frame-4/949172/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/07/zero1022ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fatal-frame-4/949171/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/07/zero1020ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fatal-frame-4/949170/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/07/zero1016ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fatal-frame-4/949169/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/07/zero1013ak_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/fatal-frame-iv-may-disturb-europe-in-february/">Fatal Frame IV may disturb Europe in February</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 09:00:00 EST. After delays and uncertainty, <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/10/27/wii-fanboy-review-disaster-day-of-crisis/"><em>Disaster: Day of Crisis</em></a> finally came out in Europe and Japan -- and <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/04/disaster-days-of-nobody-buying-it/"></a><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/25/monolith-reflects-on-disaster-non-sales-mentions-a-sequel/">pretty much</a> bombed. <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/30/disaster-back-on-the-train-to-rumorsville/">New information</a> <em>suggests</em> that <em>Disaster</em> may be planned for a North American release (although we suspect it's more that said release was planned years ago when the game was first unveiled, and just has yet to be cancelled). <br /><br />But <em>should it?</em> Do you think the game has a better chance here than in other regions? Would you have any expectation of sales, especially given Reggie's <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/10/30/say-what-you-think-reggie-lays-into-disaster-day-of-crisis/">low confidence</a> (and thus low likelihood of promotion)? Personally, we want to play it and we don't much care if Nintendo of America profits on it or not. They've got enough money, but we don't have enough copies of <em>Disaster.</em> Feel free to speak from the position of "armchair business analyst" <em>or</em> "person who wants to play a game"!<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: Disaster: Day of Crisis</strong></p><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/disaster-day-of-crisis/1011638/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45138_dd_wii_p14_02_psd_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/disaster-day-of-crisis/1011637/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45137_dd_wii_p30_04_psd_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/disaster-day-of-crisis/1011636/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45141_a_a__psd_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/disaster-day-of-crisis/1011632/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45135_dd_wii_p17_03_psd_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/disaster-day-of-crisis/1011631/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/09/45134_dd_wii_p21_03_psd_jpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/12/01/wii-warm-up-disaster-planning/">Wii Warm Up: Disaster planning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 08:00:00 EST. Now, the will-it-won't-it saga has taken another twist, after Go Nintendo reader Silver Lunar received an email from Nintendo customer support saying the game would be released in the region.<br /><br />Okay, <em>we know</em>. Some guy saying he got an email from Nintendo customer support is exactly the kind of anecdote we'd usually snort derisively at, and you're right: we should all treat this with a degree of suspicion. That said, Go Nintendo's RMC received screencaps of Silver Lunar's email exchange with the big N, and reckons it's the real thing. Looks like Monster Games -- the folks behind the Wii launch title <em>Excite Truck</em> -- are hard at work on a super secret new project for the console, and have been for a long time. How secret is it? So secret, apparently, that they have to turn down their monitors when unauthorized folks walk into the office. Sounds like anything but an <em>Excite Truck</em> <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/05/22/rumorang-excite-truck-2-rumors-keep-on-trucking/">follow-up</a>, eh? There aren't many reasons to keep that a secret. So what could it be? Monster Games only seems to put out racing titles, so we're gonna bet there will be vehicles and high speeds, but that could cover a lot of ground. Some have <a href="http://www.wiinintendo.net/2008/11/28/monster-games-working-on-top-secret-nintendo-game-possibly-f-zero/">guessed</a> that it might be an all-new<em> F-Zero</em>, but frankly, we're holding out for something that's really new and not a revival. Not that we wouldn't enjoy a little <em>F-Zero</em>, but we like <em>new</em> things, too.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.thetanooki.com/2008/11/28/excite-truck-developers-working-on-super-top-secret-game-for-nintendo/">The Tanooki</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/29/mystery-title-from-monster-games-kicks-speculation-into-high-gea/">Mystery title from Monster Games kicks speculation into high gear</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Sat, 29 Nov 2008 17:17:00 EST. You may or may not like the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/12/play-on-wii-donkey-kong-has-new-stages-drastic-changes/">changes</a> that are coming for the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/10/31/point-counterpoint-yea-or-nay-play-on-wii/">Play on Wii</a> release of <em>Donkey Kong Jungle Beat</em>, but we're willing to bet that you'll like at least one thing -- the game's updated look. While the changes aren't particularly obvious at a glance, when they're side-by-side with the originals, you can easily see the refinements and additions, which is why we've got a few comparisons here, just for you. You can even see some of the refinements in the tiny image above, like the scales, but if you want the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/play-on-wii-donkey-kong-jungle-beat-comparison/1191866/full/">full effect</a>, you're going to want to step into our gallery below.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: Play On Wii: Donkey Kong Jungle Beat comparison</strong></p><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/play-on-wii-donkey-kong-jungle-beat-comparison/1191868/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/dkcomp2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/play-on-wii-donkey-kong-jungle-beat-comparison/1191867/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/dkcomp1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/play-on-wii-donkey-kong-jungle-beat-comparison/1191866/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/dkcomp3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[New images via <a href="http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/124/124657/">Dengeki</a>; old via GameSpot]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/29/new-and-graphically-improved-donkey-kong-jungle-beat/">New and (graphically) improved Donkey Kong Jungle Beat</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Sat, 29 Nov 2008 14:00:00 EST. <div align="left">Commence with the spending frenzy! Black Friday's door-busting sales and no-holds-barred consumer fistfights initiate holiday shopping today, and that means the annual limited-edition Nintendo swag is now being clawed from store shelves. As many of you know, this year is no slouch with <a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2008/10/28/new-ds-lites-add-color-to-black-friday/">two new DS Lite colors</a>, one of which is a <em>phenomenal</em> Mario-red. No cause for alarm; some foaming at the mouth is to be expected. Almost harder to believe is <a href="http://www.dsfanboy.com/2008/11/26/thankswagging-holiday-prize-pack-up-for-grabs/">DS Fanboy's current giveaway</a> where one lucky reader will take it home free. The rest of us can <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DS-Limited-Mario-Super-Bros/dp/B001IAT7O6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1227715092&amp;sr=1-1">bag it at Amazon.com</a> while supplies last.<br /><br />ANYWAYS. We still have a gallery this week amidst all of the excitement. It started out as a series of photographs capturing every possible angle of the aforementioned DS Lite, but that didn't quite work. Instead, being so stuffed with Thanksgiving turkey and delicious pumpkin pie, we couldn't help thinking about what comprises Mario's diet. The short answer? Mushrooms. Lots of them. Seriously, what is it about fungus? Chomp down on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/its-a-mario-world-fungal-species/1191352/">our new gallery</a> in which you'll taste a smorgasbord of 'shroom varieties Mario has consumed throughout his career. Yum.<br /></div>

It's such a shame what happened with Nintendo and <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/rare">Rare</a>. Remember the good old days when we loved their games? Oh, how it was <em>wonderful to be alive</em>. <br /><br />And Rare is thinking about reviving one of those older games we love in their fighting game franchise, <em>Killer Instinct</em>, they've <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=320709">commented to Eurogamer</a>. "<em>Killer Instinct</em> is an IP that is fondly remembered and we may do something with it, but it's a tricky market to be like the old <em>Killer Instinct</em>," said studio manager Mark Betteridge. And, even if they did revive the series, it would most likely be on the Xbox 360 and not back home on Nintendo's Wii console, like we would hope.<br /><br />Who would still want to play a new <em>Killer Instinct</em> game?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/28/rare-says-new-killer-instinct-not-out-of-the-question/">Rare says new Killer Instinct not out of the question</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Fri, 28 Nov 2008 20:11:00 EST. <br />Namco Bandai's <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/07/the-healing-power-of-fragiles-bonfires/"><em>Fragile</em></a> isn't short on interesting characters. The latest is Shin, a brilliant (but socially weak) scientist and the latest addition to the game's ragtag cast. He'll be voiced by Toshio Furukawa (all of the game's dialog will be spoken), former voice star of <em>Dragon Ball Z</em>, <em>Gundam</em>, <em>Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops</em>, and <a href="http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WlIWqAAATCQ">Jann Lee</a> of <em>Dead or Alive</em> fame.<br /><br />Though <em>Fragile</em> still can't match the oddball quotient of <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/no-more-heroes/613036/"><em>No More Heroes</em></a>, it's encouraging to see Namco Bandai isn't falling back on stock RPG characters. We were going to mention how Shin might be the oddest-looking <em>Fragile</em> cast member yet, but then we remembered <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/08/01/fragile-is-the-weirdest-looking-wii-game-youll-see-today/">this guy</a>. Join us past the break for a look at the game's eye-catching Japanese boxart, and catch 14 new screens in the <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/photos/fragile/1191528/full/">gallery</a>.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: Fragile</strong></p><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fragile/1191528/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/fragile-november-28-jklhfwuibv-011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fragile/1191527/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/fragile-november-28-jklhfwuibv-013_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fragile/1191526/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/fragile-november-28-jklhfwuibv-012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fragile/1191525/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/fragile-november-28-jklhfwuibv-010_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://"www.nintendowiifanboy.com"/photos/fragile/1191524/"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/11/fragile-november-28-jklhfwuibv-009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /><img hspace="4" vspace="4" border="1" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.nintendowiifanboy.com/media/2008/12/2132370458980798685875875.jpg" alt="" /></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2008/11/28/another-character-enchanting-boxart-added-to-the-fragile-mix/">Another character, enchanting boxart added to the Fragile mix</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com">Nintendo Wii Fanboy</a> on Fri, 28 Nov 2008 19:18:00 EST.
