After delays and uncertainty, Disaster: Day of Crisis finally came out in Europe and Japan -- and pretty much bombed. New informationsuggests that Disaster may be planned for a North American release (although we suspect it's more that said release was planned years ago when the game was first unveiled, and just has yet to be cancelled).
But should it? Do you think the game has a better chance here than in other regions? Would you have any expectation of sales, especially given Reggie's low confidence (and thus low likelihood of promotion)? Personally, we want to play it and we don't much care if Nintendo of America profits on it or not. They've got enough money, but we don't have enough copies of Disaster. Feel free to speak from the position of "armchair business analyst" or "person who wants to play a game"!
Not long ago, we spent a little time talking about the games you were looking forward to next year. Today, we want to do the opposite. What upcoming hyped game just doesn't do it for you? Yesterday was the most hyped shopping day of the year. Some of you braved the morning insanity out in the retail world, and some of you (and us) took advantage of delightful onlinedeals. One thing every shopping experience had in common: unexpectedly awesome deals other than the ones you'd planned to buy.

With the holiday season fast approaching, our minds have wandered to the joy of receiving gifts and, more importantly, giving them. We then thought about the gaming gifts we've bestowed upon friends and family in the past. What about you all? Have you given (or plan to give away) any gaming gifts recently? Are most of your friends and families hip to gaming, whether it be Wii or some other form, or do you do your part through charities like Child's Play? Let's all share some stories!
Yesterday's very awesome trailer for a Mega Man movie got us thinking. What game property would you like to see made into a film? Hollywood has tried to do it several times and pretty much failed through and through, but with what source material would you like them to try to make a competent film? A Legend of Zelda movie? Would you like to see F-Zero: The Movie? Well, out with it!
Nintendo announced three Art Style games at once for Europe, treating them as a set. Statements made by developer Skip also indicate that there may not be more Art Style for a while. Nintendo may have already proved us wrong this morning -- as of the time of writing, they haven't announced the releases yet.
But we'll discuss these three now anyway, since some of us have had plenty of time to play some or all of them. Which has become more of a staple in your gaming life? The chilled-out Orbient? The brand new, slightly action-oriented Cubello? The intensely frustrating Rotohex?
Have kids, or maybe younger siblings or cousins? If so, it's likely that, sometimes, you play games with them -- but what to play? The Brainy Gamer has a list of actually-good games that are also kid-friendly, and while this set is definitely a great place to start, we're betting you can add some more. Obviously, Wii Sports will always be good family fare, but with the holiday season kicking into gear, we'll probably be playing more and more games with the family. So what do you choose?
Last night, we saw the extremely brief return of the Club Nintendo Super Famicom Classic Controller, which popped up for sale at $70 and promptly disappeared. It's pretty desirable for something with the exact same button layout as the stock Classic, and no analog sticks.
Don't take this as a slight, since we adore old systems --this is merely a conversation topic. Is there something about the Super Famicom/SNES controller, or any other pre-N64 controller (we understand that the N64 controller has a unique form factor and button layout), that makes it inherently superior to the Classic in non-nostalgia-related ways? We miss the turbo switches from the TurboPad, but Hori's finally got a solution for that.
So the Wii is two years old now. Huzzah! But looking back, with everything you might have bought for your system (excluding games), do you feel like it was a bargain? It was the cheapest of this generation's home consoles, after all, and the bargain aspect was played up by a lot of people. At this point in time, do you feel like you got a good deal on your Wii? Even if you don't, was it/is it worth it?

We know we've kind of been focused on Animal Crossing a bit in the last week or so, but with the game having been available to you all, we're wondering how you're finding it so far. Have you been going crazy in the game, buying up tons of stuff for your house and running errands for Tom Nook? Have you paid off your house yet?
