Word
over at AMN is that some inside folk privy to the kind of information only insiders...are...privy...to have
confirmed an unnamed title that will be releasing for the Revolution. This title, which is first-person and largely
based around swordplay and violence, is to be revealed in the coming weeks.
In doing some super-sleuthing, AMN's Phillip Levin also found out that Ubisoft is working on a Revolution title code-named "Katana," which combines violent themes of sword and gun play through the control of the Revolution's remote. Coincidence?

I don't know how many sword games we will have on Rev. It's innovative once, but never again, so hopefully not too many.

Okay yeah it's only innovative once, but so was platforming, FPS, RTS, MMOG... every genre is only truly innovative once, but there is a lot of variation and refinement that can happen after it's been done. People just seem determined to write off the Revolution as a gimick and something that will only be fun once, yet I say look to the DS.
I'm not saying that I want to see a hundred sword games, but why can't there be a fencing game, a samurai game, a swashbuckler, a lightsaber battle, or an MMO with massive sword fighting? All of those sound pretty fun to me so I say give it a chance welcome the FPSF (first person sword fighter) genre.

ha! not if your sword is sharp enough. and who says no force feedback? that's still an unknown.
Nice post #2, and why not a sport fencing title with epee, saber, and foil fencing, and real coaching and footwork intstruction.
As a fencer, I am hot on as many sword games as we can get. I'll buy them all. This would be my new favorite genre too. I'm sure it would also bring some more attention to the sport.

Don't bring a sword to a gunfight!!
I can imagine this to be Matrixy though.
You start out in a room and slice away ninja style with a katana, then pull out an AK-47. Major badass!

Hey, speaking of sword play on rev, did anyone read that article on revolution report about zelda twilight princess using the revmote? it was an interview with Aonuma, the director of the game. I think it fell off the internet cuz I cant find it now, but it said that battles on revolution will be first person, and that you use the revmote/nunchuck as your virtual sword and shield. Also they said there will be revolution specific puzzles and that things like bombs and boomerangs will be "thrown" with the remote...pretty cool
