wow guys, you take things a little bit to literally. when they say like a stone or s tick, they just mean random objects. and that would make for a good game, if you realise how realistic would be. We dont live in the resident evil universe where guns are everywhere and bad guys drop ammo. useing brains rather then fire arms is a good idea.

I remember there was an Xbox 360 game based on that. Dead Rising. Everyone aclaimed the title because it forced you to use your brains rather than guns, of course, every items was interactuable, from oranges in the supermarket, to shopping carts, tables, etc.

Now that somebody makes the same concept, but changes "Press A to throw orange" to "Press A AND throw orange", the concept is boring.

Well, Dead Rising is a little different, as it takes place in a shopping mall and is essentially a non-stop battle against zombies. With the way the developer describes THIS game, having you pick up objects from the ground specifically, it doesn't seem as exciting. It seems more limited, but we'll have to wait and see.

Not sure you want narcolepsy associated with your game though. :)

I actually went ahead and checked Narcolepsy at wikipedia.
For all who might wonder (and are too lazy to check), Narcolepsy is a sleeping disorder, which causes people to sleep, even if they slept properly at night.

Nyctophobia, is afraid of the night/dark.

And Schizophrenia is best expressed in "Me, Myself and Irene".

With that out of the line, the way I see Dead Rising compared to this, is that in Dead Rising, the game itself prides in its openness, even if inside a shopping mall (thus, the oranges and shopping carts), according to what I've read and seen, its a very open game that allows you to interact with (almost?) every element in sight.

This game, on the other hand, doesnt involve shopping malls , but prides itself on the openness of interacting with object, and using them (the rope, the knife and torch being examples).


I've heard people say they get very involved with Res Evil, and that in parts the game scares them. This is using a regular control, where you actually dont do much, other than move with joystiq and press X or A or (Circle).

In this game, I imagine a similar setting, but allowing you not only to shoot with guns (if found), but to use baseball bats, chairs, tables, glass shards, lamps, and pretty much every object in sight and hit them with it.

I always see gamers sittin' in the couch, but with this game, I imagine they'll be standing and moving their arms, possibly even ducking to try to avoid being hit.

The way I see it, this game is a mixture of Resident Evil DS(Use touchscreen to hack and slash with knife, perform CPR with mic) with Dead Rising(interactive objects) in a gothic setting made for Revolution.

Who wouldnt want THAT?

This is EXACTLY what the Rev remote is good for. Why wouldn't this be fun? So basically what you're saying is that if you're not using the Rev remote as a gun, then it's no fun? I would love to swing the remote and bash a zombie in the head.

It's not the concept of utilizing the remote in order to interact with these objects in new ways that I don't find exciting, it's the part where I'd be doing it to ghosts. I look forward to the new ways in which the remote will change the face of gaming, but lobbing stones at a ghost just doesn't seem that great to me.

I dont think the whole premise is based on lobbing stones to ghosts and ghouls.. I think that was just an example cited. Along with the sticks.

I think (or hope, at least), that they'll make it similar to Dead Rising, in which every object is interactuable, and allows you to throw it at'em.

guys, again, stop taking it literally, when they say you can pick stuff up, they mean like ANY object, a chair, a candle, a baseball bat, a guitar, etc....

do you people have no damn imagination at all? Ever hear of an example? cause thats what they gave.

and to be quite honest, if some scary crap was attacking you, and the only thing you could find was a rock, Id bet youd chuck it.

This sounds really interesting. I hope that they keep action to a minimum, and focus on puzzles and traps. Sort of like the original Alone in the Dark.
